And Captain Daddy! Those are his new nicknames. Steve has been havin some real trouble with his eyes and will have to have surgery to replace his cornea as soon as we can get everything lined up, But thats another post. So for right now he wears a patch when his eye is very painful or its way too bright, and he has been a really good sport with all the "Argghhhhs' "Ahoy Maties!' we can muster up!

Where did the time go?

I am still here and I haven't abandoned the Blog. Stuff has been happening, maybe not that exciting but still. and here I am writing about nothin. So sad. Jo got a hair cut. We are preparing for a Cali trip. Summer Activities have been fun. Okay. I am gonna download Pics tonight and make some new post really soon. So sad.

Some would say, 'Its about Time!"

Well we finally had all the stars line up and Lizzie got her Braces. we were waiting for baby teeth, money, the right Doc, possibility of Insurance and well just life. Yesterday Lizzie and I went to the Orthodontist and even though she has been so excited since the first visit, she got really nervous when it came down to it. She did great. Its not like it used to be thats for sure. It didnt really hurt at all she said. and she was super excited to get her bite plate that she was able to 'design herself'. a Bite plate looks like a retainer, but helps her line her teeth up better. its sparkly yellow with a spotted puppy in it. I know your jealous, its pretty cool. Poor thing though, today her teeth really hurt, and thats because the teeth are actually already moving. amazing. But all and all she is happy and she really likes them. I am proud of her.

Summer of Learning! Summer of Fun!

Summer is here and I am always trying to find new and fun things for the kids to do that wont break my iddybiddy piggy bank. So this year, besides the summer movies and public pools, we are spending time learning new things, like how to do this chore or that, the right way(and making it fun), math and spelling sheets I got free online, and then the funniest so far is cooking class! each kid is cooking a meal 3x's a week, so it helps me and they are learning a new skill that they can use the rest of their lives. its been fun watching them learning new things. "The Everything Kids Cookbook" is a great kids book. it walks them through it all and explains things too like what it means to 'fold' something in. Here is Stevie trying to 'flip' his crepe. They tasted great once we figured out this step.

Las Vegas and Friends

Can it get any better then that? Okay, maybe not the place, but great friends. We spent Memorial weekend with our Friends at their home in Vegas and we had a blast! We went to the Valley of Fire. Very cool hiking. and The Mormon Fort where the kids made bricks and played on the wagons and stuff. and of course we had a to do a little bit of Vegas site seein and headed over to Belagio's Dancing water show and indoor live Garden.
A wonderful trip chucked full of fun and laughter. they are the Best People and we sure enjoy their family and hanging out together.
