Thanksgiving Weekend

Oh How I have missed my Blogging friends. I am so addicted to blogging and to lurking your blogs, that with just a few days away, I am missing you! I have had such a busy week and so many things to share. We had visiting family and dear friends, we had holidays and birthday parties in the park, We carried out family traditions and shared those with the kids and gratefully, we had a moment or two to count our many blessings and to give thanks for all we truly have, and how blessed we truly are.
Some of our memories from this week I have put in the slide show to share.
Thursday Steve played Football and so I took pictures, and I missed every tackle he made. Then we ate a great wonderful meal and enjoyed each others company.
Friday The boys went shooting, I want to make it perfectly clear, nothing was killed or injured while making this blog. Except maybe some clay pigeons and water balloons.
That night we headed off to the Temple to see the lights and watch the concert. Jimmy of course fell into the pretty water, completly submerged before making his way back to us, where we then had to claim him.
Saturday was Elizabeth and Jimmy's Birthday party in the park. Lots of Fun and Games.
This Holiday weekend was joyous and wonderful as we were surrounded by loved ones, and our days were filled with love and laughter. It can't get any better then that. How blessed we are.

Another Lesson Learned at School

Jimmy came home from school yesterday so proud of his art project that he made. He said it was his super hard pilgrim hat. So of course, we had to take a picture of it.

One I took.

One he took.

And then we tried to take it off. . . we soon realized that the glue was not completely dry when he put it on at school. I have to say, Its pretty dang hard to help your kid get his glued on paper hat off when your laughing really hard. Thank goodness for Elmer's Glue. Its washable right?

First time for everything!

Today, Katie Jo is 4 weeks old. Today she had her first bath. Wait wait, Let me clarify, she has had plenty of showers with daddy, thank you very much. We are not that crusty around here. It just happens to be her first bath with all her helpers. Today, We almost caught one of her smiles on camera, dang it! and the biggest news... Today, Stevie got rid of his training wheels (finally!) and now its painfully obvious he needs a new bike. He rode around like a speed demon with just one little mishap with a man eating curb.
I'd say all and all, it was a good Saturday.

Already?!

Katie Jo turned 3 weeks yesterday. I can't believe how fast she is growing, how quickly time is passing, its so hard. She is still a peanut. She still wears newborn diapers and clothes, (which is amazing for one of my kids) but she is heavier and her face is changing. She has a little bit more facial expressions and her noises are so darn cute. we waited until after our park trip, so these aren't the best pictures, as you can see she just doesn't like it as much as I do ;)
and my 'helper' cut the top of her head off but she's mine and its her Birthday!
Happy 3 weeks Jo Jo Bean!

Day at the park

It was a beautiful Saturday and most of the chores were done. Okay, honestly it was so nice I didn't even care if the chores were done! We went to lunch and then we hung out at the park. we had a blast. Next time we are bringing balls and maybe scooters. (gotta enjoy the good weather before it starts the heat blasts again.)

Katie Jo didn't like the wind so the 'laying on the blanket watching trees move' activity was canceled for safer locations.

Ride 'em Cowboys!

Look Ma no Hands!
Stevie's first time at rock climbing, thanks to all the experts

Mission accomplished!!

Cousin Time

So we gathered this Holiday at our Cousins house with the amazing backyard. its the Disneyland of backyards to my kids. There is a big climbing, sliding, hanging, swinging play thing and a zipline and a play house and mini roller coasters and moon sand and a regular old sandbox. not to mention Chickens! Life can't get any better then that, I tell you. So while the kids ran a muck, we adults enjoyed each other and caught up, and soakedup the wonderful opportunity to gather in love yet again. My kids simply had a blast and I loved watching them have so much fun with all their cousins.

Stevie launching from the Zip Line. I think this might have been turn 247 by my calculations

This would be Jolie the Amazing. on the swings.
Lizzie, Aubrey, and Jimmy swinging the day away!
and then there was Gideon and Jimmy, once they discovered this trick there was no more fighting about who's turn it was! If you weren't careful, you could loose an ankle as they zoomed past ya, a few of us did!

But its the desert!

Yes folks, it actually rains here occasionally. Usually our rain comes in monsoon form during july/august right in the middle of the heat wave. Its a bit weird to have rain in 105degree weather, but again its the desert people. Well today, in the beginning of Nov, the wind started to pick up and all of a sudden the skies darkened and wallah! we have rain!! real rain. Big hard drops with real force as they hit the dry cracking ground. Soon the hail followed. The kids call it snow...what do you expect, they live in the desert!

Weekend Milestones!

Saturday was Katie Jo's 2 week birthday! My baby girl is 'chunking out' as a dear friend has so kindly told me, ( I am rethinking our friendship as I type) ;)
My camera had something on the lens that I didn't discover till too late so the pics are a bit blurry, and somehow she isn't into pictures as much as I am, little bugger!
Sunday she went to Church for the first time. Steve took her with him because he was afraid I would let everyone hold her. I'm a bit of a wuss, but I also want to share I am so proud of her. He actually taught his Priesthood lesson while holding her.
He is so protective of her its sweet. on a side note, why can't my Boys ever take a decent picture? Stevie always has something on his shirt and sticking out his belly and Jimmy? well, he just is Jimmy. Ugh.

Are we having fun yet?

So as the weather changes here in the desert finally, and we start to really cool down to 75-85 during the day and 45-60 at night, things come out of the wood work to enjoy the cozyness of our home, how lucky are we? This little critter, cute as can be, (so what if he is deadly too huh?) decided that he should take a snooze in our handtowel in our bathroom. The same bathroom the kids use all day long! The same bathroom I have my extra Diapers and Wipes in!!
Life in the desert is always an adventure. whether you are trying not to shrivel away in the sun or dodging killer bees, deadly snakes or even scorpions in your handtowels, its always a thrill ride. I just love living in the desert. . . No really! its a blast.

A Moment in Time

A while back, one of my best friends had a baby. I waited with baited breath for pictures to appear on her blog, finally! then I waited for updates, I kept thinking 'what is she doing? why can't she share more!?' And then Katie Jo came... Steve was able to save up and take two weeks off of work. We are just surrounded with love for her and trying to absorb every moment of this amazing blessing that has come into our lives so unexpectedly. We have taken pictures but I haven't blogged like I should. I can't believe how much she has changed in just this short time. It saddens me to realize how fast she is growing, its almost cruel. I waited so long for her and now she is changing with each new day. With My other babies, we were just so excited about all the milestones to hurry and come, first smile, first sitting up, walking and so forth and then they came so close together, that we feel like we missed so much! We recognize Katie Jo for the true miracle that she is to our family, and want to hold on to every moment. She takes to everything so well. She sleeps almost through the night! I am able to breast feed her as well as the bottle with no problems! She loves showers with Daddy, and the kids holding her. She is so perfect and wonderful, so fluffy and sweet. Okay I guess the Hormones are still here, cause this is more gushy then planned, and I am crying. Here are more pictures as requested!

Katie Jo

I think I'm in love!! Her hair is getting fluffier and her eyes lighter, she might keep them blue! I might be a little prejudice in this case but I don't care! She is perfect, a real blessing in our lives, a gift from God, that we waited for ever and she has truly changed our lives. And to top it all off, she is super cute too! ;)

Halloween 2008

Halloween around the Roberts home is fun time for us. I love the holiday and the decorations and the candy ain't so bad either!! October 1st the decorations went up. poor Daddy, that's usually my job but I was just the supervisor in the chair this year, 'No!Frankenstein goes over there!' 'The skeleton Bride and groom go here'... its was great fun for him I am sure. ;) I bought the stuff to make their costumes really early so I would have them all done before the baby arrived. Okay, that part didn't work out so well, not feeling so creative at the end of my pregnancy. ;)We did finally get them done, they turned out great, the kids were happy, and Stevie won best costume at school so life is good!!Lizzie Stevie's teacher announced the week of Halloween that their costume had to be from a book or TV. since Lizzie had 'created' hers, we had to figure something out. So Lizzie and Stevie wrote a book about their characters they were going to be and wallah! They brought the book in and read it to their classes and now they were official!In case you need some help with the pictures;
Lizzie is a Lava Spirit
Stevie is Smartie Pants
Jimmy is a skeleton
Katie Jo stayed home with mommy to do the treats while the big goblins ran a muck with Dad
