Principals Honor Rolls

I know being prideful is wrong, But this is a scary hard world and kids need to know we are proud of them for all the wonderful things they do. I love my kids and I am so proud of them! So there!

Stevie's Experiement

I thought I got off easy when it was only Lizzie who needed a science project for the fair, but guess who suddenly remembered he needed one, due the next day! Boys. I was going to let him just learn his lesson.. But when he told me what he wanted to do I thought it would be a better deal for me to get some "extra chores" out of him instead! Sweet. So He wanted to prove what made a soda fizz the most. Easy Cheesy. We bought a 6 pack of diet coke and added salt, sugar, just shook, and mentos. It was pretty fun and done in about 2 hours from start to finish. Not bad, since the chores took longer then that!

Renaissance Fair

I grew up going to these kind of things and it was such a wonderful memory for me I wanted to share with my kids. So we did some internet research about the time period and this last weekend we took the kids. It wasnt the same as when I was a kid but, It was fun. It was dirty. The weather was nice. Steve got his turkey leg, and I think the kids had a really good time. Hopefully they will have some good memories as well. I asked Lizzie as we were leaving if she had a good time and if she thought she would remember it like I did, and she said "Oh yeah, I will remember this for at least 3 months!" Great.

Rules are Rules

Usually,Uncle Mikey is a pretty good baby sister. The kids like him and he's silly. He makes movies, and makes up games. He'll make them ice cream and let them stay up late. The only thing Uncle Mikey doesn't do? Dirty Diapers.
I have actually been called to come home early because someone has broken this sacred rule.
Today when I left, I forgot my phone, and so poor Jo had to pay the price...

Amazing Jakes

We didn't do a party this year, for a lot of reasons, but we got this great coupon for amazing Jakes and we decided to go for it. Super fun palce. Its like Peter pipers on steroids. I think it was well worth the deal price we had. Best part is... They played so hard they slept all the way home. :) I think the spinning tea cups might have been a too scary a ride for Stevie. ;P

Happy Birthday Stevie Angel

Today was my Angel Baby's birthday. My Miracle Baby is now officially 9 years old! It seems like just the other year that we found out we were pregnant again. Lizzie was only 7months old. Even though we were so happy to have another baby, I knew from the beginning of the pregnancy, that something was wrong. At the sonogram, when they found a 'growth' growing in there with him I was actually relieved. okay now we know what it is and we can go from there, right?. It was decided it was a molar pregnancy, that means its a twin that never makes it passed the first few stages, but its placenta and such continues to grow in a deformed state and take over the surviving twin. We were brought in 3 or 4 different occasions and counseled to end the pregnancy. If the fetus (not a baby to them ever) even made it to full term it could take me and 'it' wouldn't survive a day. they showed horrific pictures of the deformities we were facing. We then headed off to Steve's family, and Steve and his Dad gave me a blessing. in that blessing we were told that he was a boy, and that the Lord would protect him. He was a choice spirit and the Lord wasn't done with him, he would be healthy and strong. Next week at the doctors, We explained to them our beliefs and that we would see this through to the end no matter what, and no more pictures or counselors on death. The pregnancy continued on, and Stevie was born 1 month early at almost 5 pounds, 'the blob' weighed in at 5.2lbs. My little Angel was perfect in every way. They kept him in the hospital for 2 weeks for testing and because he was a preemie (technically). The nurses called him "Moose" because for a preemie he was big. At the time of his birth there were only 3 other known cases of a healthy molar pregnancy, Stevie is now in the Medical Journal as # 4. My Miracle Baby, Stevie Taumaloto. He is named after the two important Priesthood figures in my life, My husband and my Samoan Dad. Taumaloto means strong of heart or lions heart. He has always been so loving and sweet, very sensitive and kind. He is my goofy kid who enjoys to laugh and make others laugh as well. You have changed our life and strengthened my testimony, I love you my Son. Happy Birthday!! Stevie Taumaloto Roberts, My Miracle Boy I love you.

Winner!!

So last night was the Blue and Gold and it was so much work and time but it came out so great! But more on that later. Tonight was the Hoe Down at School. Wasn't quite sure what that was about because each kid came home with a different explanation about what it was all about. They always have a good time at the after school activities and we want to support, so off to the mystery Hoe Down we went! There was a 'hay ride' okay it was a trailer with hay bails being pulled around the parking lot, but the kids were dying to ride. They had Dancing and hot dogs and a 'take your picture' thingy. But the big deal was the raffle baskets for each grade level. We bought our raffle tickets and let the kids fill them out and put them in any basket they wanted. Well as you can see we won. actually Lucky Lizzie won the gardener basket, She has won at raffles before, she is lucky. But this time Stevie won as well, the Grand Movie Basket Prize! Crazy it was 3 baskets in one! Man was it hard walking out of there with all the goodies! I tried to convince the kids to give some back to raffle for someone else and was quickly shot down by the whole family. What a mean mommy I am. oh well, maybe I should take them to Vegas next!

The not quite and original Invention

Camera is sort of working again. At this point in my life, I'll take what I can get!
Lizzie had a special science project to invent something that has never been invented before. Elizabeth came up with a snack dispenser that didn't get your hands dirty when you got a snack...(yeah i know but try to convince her that it has never been done)"Not like this mom!" after about 2 weeks and way to many "dumb, boring, notfun ideas" Crafty Uncle Mikey helped her with her original idea. She is pretty pleased with herself and turned it in today...
Hope the Teacher likes it too!

How can I do it?

My camera has been broken for a week and I am dying a slow and memoryless death. I love my camera I live to capture the moment. I have even been known to shout "Stop! don't move! let me get my camera! or Do that again!" in a messy situation. and now nothin. not a shot and I have to say, when I don't have it, is when all the really cute things happen. gone gone gone forever. So many of my fondest memories have been captured in pictures, I don't regret much in my life but I do regret the moments I didn't catch on camera. It seems like sometimes is hard to recall things that I don't have pictures of. I will always regret that I didn't take a picture of that day I came home and found Stevie 'painting" with product from his diaper. Or the time Jimmy fell into the fountain at the Temple. Or Lizzie as she ducked in and out of clothing racks in Target leaving her hair so full of Static, all of her beautiful ringlets stood straight up in the air and I wet my pants laughing. (okay, that one was probably a good thing.) Yea, I miss you camera. Wait till I find that sticky fingered culprit who left it so sticky and messy, the buttons wont work.
