Where have I been?

No Where. Honestly. I can't believe its been so long since I posted. Its not like I've been busy. What have I been doing? well, nothing exciting, I must admit. Just doing Life, same as any mommy out there. Diapers, feedings, Laundry, creating healthy amazing meals, planning and preparing enriching activities, Goodies for class parties and presents for teachers. All the while keeping my house and kitchen sparkly as ever. Yep! Just another week in the life of Mom. But I have missed you, I have missed lurking your blogs. We got our christmas cards out last week, so when you get yours, look for Uncle Mikey! (my brother snuck in the picture) its pretty cute. Not the best picture we have taken but its getting harder and harder to take a decent picture of all of us, somebody always looks goofy or way to many chins. It was just too hard to find one that we all looked great, so it was dealer's choice and I picked the one that I looked good in! Admit it, you do the same thing. On the first day of Vacation we had all the cousins over for Christmas crafts. It was good for the moms, who got some time to do last minute stuff and it was good for my kids who love hangin out with the Cousins, so Win Win! The most popular event seemed to be waiting for Katie Jo to wake up so they could hold her. It's nice to be loved isn't it? My Brother helped me to make special ornaments of silhouette pictures of each kid to send home. It was fun. We learned how to make Tortillas from the Smith Family and had a pretty good time until Stevie and Jimmy each broke something...no wonder we have no friends. The Highlight of the week? We got to see the real Santa!, my advice to you my friend is before you take that special once in a lifetime picture, make sure there are no finger prints on the camera lens. If you can make out Jimmy's smug look with Santa, its pretty funny. Stevie this year, had a 'friend' at school explain to him the impossible world of Santa. Stevie who was already wavering, took it upon himself to retell this to Jimmy. Mommy and Daddy decided that Santa could settle the dilemma for everyone, so we went to see him ourselves. and through the blurry camera lens, life is yet again innocent and good, for my children. Until the next little twerp comes along in Easter.

Christmas Cactus

Elizabeth had to decorate a cactus for an at home art project. She worked so hard and was so very proud, we had to add it to the blog!
She sure loves anything to do with art.

Is it gonna happen this year or not?

So as I am cleaning up my piles of lists, cards, pictures and messed up envelopes from my yearly endever to send our christmas love out to all who are near and dear, I am singing along to my favorite christmas CD. I have already scolded myself for waiting so long to do this. I mean here it is, the middle of December and I am just now sending my cards. Its one of my favorite things about the christmas season. I just love getting the mail in December. Opening the box and seeing all the colored envelopes filled with love and holiday wishes. I read every card and then I hang them up for all to see, and pictures? well that is heaven. But as the last lingering note of Silent Night is still dangling from my lips, I realize I have not gotten a single card yet. Not one picture, not one little note. So now I am wondering, is everyone running late like me? Is it Money? Is it just not fashionable anymore? Or has life jumped out at you, and it's just not gonna happen this year. ( that was me last year) I took the cute picture, (See?) I tried to work on the letter, I even bought the stamps, but getting it all together, just didn't work out last year. I felt so guilty with each pretty card that arrived. So I guess as I sit here in the quiet night I am asking. How is your christmas card writing going this year?

Christmas Party

Last Night was our Ward Christmas Party. It was so much fun I think it might have well been one of our best yet. The kids have been practicing for over a month, to learn some really fun songs, with Sister Nevitt, our Bishops' wife. and they did a terrific job. Honestly they had so much fun, they couldn't wait to sing that night. The party was held at our Bishops' family farm which meant we partied in the barn and the kids got to go on a cotton ride! Which is basically a hay ride with a lot of cotton. Santa even came from way up in the sky ( via a crane) and was the hit of the night. Unfortunetly, Katie Jo didn't enjoy the night very much. She spent most of the loud cold nite cryin, poor little thing. thank goodness their memory is so short at this age!

Fun Laughter and Friends

I had like the Best time tonight! I had a girls nite out with my friends Lina and Lani. We went to dinner and then to Twilight which I hadn't seen yet. But thats not the important part. The important part is, I had the Best time tonight! We laughed and cried, we teased and gossiped, and ate way too much. It was terrific fun that I haven't had in a long time and it was great. The last time out with just girls was in June, right after my Mom passed away, My Mom wanted me to "go out and have fun". and so some dear friends and I, did.

Tonight as I was driving home, smiling and thinking about the night, I realized that was the last time I had done that, that I had been out with just girls and no kids. Not since June. I miss my Mom, she was happy tonight, because I was happy and having fun. Tonight was fun, and silly.
I want to do it again. Soon!!

While Lurking some of my friends blogs this week, I have discovered some fun websites.
Here is one with christmas fun for kids and recipes to boot.

And here is where I found the fun Nativity Advent calender in the pictures on the right. We started it for family home evening, adding one piece each nightuntil christmas morning we will add baby Jesus. So many fun ideas for little kids and FHE.

This is where everything is homemade and original for you to buy. very cool I ordered Binky holders, very chic I might add. I had heard of it before, but had never visited the site. I am afraid I am probably addicted to that as well. :)

Thanksgiving Weekend

Oh How I have missed my Blogging friends. I am so addicted to blogging and to lurking your blogs, that with just a few days away, I am missing you! I have had such a busy week and so many things to share. We had visiting family and dear friends, we had holidays and birthday parties in the park, We carried out family traditions and shared those with the kids and gratefully, we had a moment or two to count our many blessings and to give thanks for all we truly have, and how blessed we truly are.
Some of our memories from this week I have put in the slide show to share.
Thursday Steve played Football and so I took pictures, and I missed every tackle he made. Then we ate a great wonderful meal and enjoyed each others company.
Friday The boys went shooting, I want to make it perfectly clear, nothing was killed or injured while making this blog. Except maybe some clay pigeons and water balloons.
That night we headed off to the Temple to see the lights and watch the concert. Jimmy of course fell into the pretty water, completly submerged before making his way back to us, where we then had to claim him.
Saturday was Elizabeth and Jimmy's Birthday party in the park. Lots of Fun and Games.
This Holiday weekend was joyous and wonderful as we were surrounded by loved ones, and our days were filled with love and laughter. It can't get any better then that. How blessed we are.

Another Lesson Learned at School

Jimmy came home from school yesterday so proud of his art project that he made. He said it was his super hard pilgrim hat. So of course, we had to take a picture of it.

One I took.

One he took.

And then we tried to take it off. . . we soon realized that the glue was not completely dry when he put it on at school. I have to say, Its pretty dang hard to help your kid get his glued on paper hat off when your laughing really hard. Thank goodness for Elmer's Glue. Its washable right?

First time for everything!

Today, Katie Jo is 4 weeks old. Today she had her first bath. Wait wait, Let me clarify, she has had plenty of showers with daddy, thank you very much. We are not that crusty around here. It just happens to be her first bath with all her helpers. Today, We almost caught one of her smiles on camera, dang it! and the biggest news... Today, Stevie got rid of his training wheels (finally!) and now its painfully obvious he needs a new bike. He rode around like a speed demon with just one little mishap with a man eating curb.
I'd say all and all, it was a good Saturday.

Already?!

Katie Jo turned 3 weeks yesterday. I can't believe how fast she is growing, how quickly time is passing, its so hard. She is still a peanut. She still wears newborn diapers and clothes, (which is amazing for one of my kids) but she is heavier and her face is changing. She has a little bit more facial expressions and her noises are so darn cute. we waited until after our park trip, so these aren't the best pictures, as you can see she just doesn't like it as much as I do ;)
and my 'helper' cut the top of her head off but she's mine and its her Birthday!
Happy 3 weeks Jo Jo Bean!

Day at the park

It was a beautiful Saturday and most of the chores were done. Okay, honestly it was so nice I didn't even care if the chores were done! We went to lunch and then we hung out at the park. we had a blast. Next time we are bringing balls and maybe scooters. (gotta enjoy the good weather before it starts the heat blasts again.)

Katie Jo didn't like the wind so the 'laying on the blanket watching trees move' activity was canceled for safer locations.

Ride 'em Cowboys!

Look Ma no Hands!
Stevie's first time at rock climbing, thanks to all the experts

Mission accomplished!!
