Jealous Ladies?

So in a search for the remote (yes, its that important!) we 'discovered' the wasteland of popcorn, forgotten hotwheeels and pennys, under our couches. We just didn't have the courage to deny it any more, and so with Steve off that day we (okay He,) attacked and conquered the abyss. I knew there was a another reason to get married. ;)

Our New Motto

So a long while ago, I saw this really cool idea in Family Fun magazine about creating a family Motto. I thought it was a great idea, but couldn't figure one out for us. It should be something you want to achieve or become or be as a family. Every time its appropriate, you bring it up with the kids, Like when they are grumbling about chores or fighting over the computer time. 'remember, the Jones' are joyous!' So I finally found the one that would work for us. I went through a ton and kept tryin them out but nothin fit, then one day when we were trying to 'teach a lesson' to the boys about doing what was right, Daddy said "Remember Boys, the Roberts do what's Right." "perfect!!!!" I shouted from downstairs Thats it!! We have had issues lately with, lets say, making wrong choices, and so this was what we needed when we needed it. Your Motto can change with your needs as well. You kind of create a business plan, motto for your family and hang it up somewhere where everyone can see it and review every once in a while, (Quick easy lesson for FHE hehe). Steve has played with it as well when helping the boys with learning the chores, the 'Roberts do it Right', (the first time) Its getting better and better!

Snow in the middle of the desert!

So we are finally getting some stores closer to our home and they had a 'grand opening' this past weekend with 20 tons of snow! (which, by the way, is not as big as it sounds), Okay so it sounded like a way super fun, (and cheap!) Saturday activity. so off we went. Somehow everyone else had the same idea, weird huh? so after waiting in a 2 hour line, the kids played in the now giant ice block for about 5 minutes! About 30 seconds into it, Jimmy ran back to me, "It's really coooooold!!!" Yeah, I'm gonna rethink my 'spur of the moment activities'.

OKay people even though I said I was excited about finally being an 'empty nester" (for about 3 months) I cried all over the place! MY baby boy went to Kindergarten today. ;(
Not sure how he will do, his teacher calls him James, and Jimmy only knows that name when he's trouble! Poor guy couldn't even recongize it written on his table! its gonna be a long year. Monday are Steve's day off so we had a a little date. I am sure he was thinking it would keep me 'busy' but all I talked about was the kids. :)
They all had great days thank goodness. Jimmy even said his favorite part was the "Teachers Wurnings" I said, Warnings? No! It took a little bit, but he was saying the "Teachers Learnings". He is a tough teacher but I think it will work for Jimmy. Mr.Mac said the first day, they were his, wouldn't let the Parents in the room, we all said goodbye at the door. It was so hard for me.
When we picked them up we had a little scare. Lizzie was no where to be found and they told us "maybe she got on a bus" . . . MAYBE!?!? Which one!!!! They call over to the teachers at the bus stop to stop the busses that were still there. I call a friend to get to our bus stop, and then we run. There she was, (on the right bus by the way), but we get her and remind her again of the conversation we had in the morning and yesterday and last night!! That Mommy would bring you and pick you up today. "Oh yeah, I forgot" UGH.

Last Hoorah!!

Tomorrow we start school so this last week, on Steve's day off, we had our "last Hoorah". Steve made German pancakes in the morning then we went to the Mall for the last of School shopping and Snow Cones, then we had lunch out, We finished the day off with Bowling!! what a fun day!
